How Biodegradable Bag Making Machine works?
1. Resin Preparation & Drying
Biodegradable raw material granules (e.g. PLA or starch-based blends) are very hygroscopic, meaning they absorb water from the atmosphere. The raw granules needed for extruding must go through a dehumidifying dryer. Excess moisture will lead to bubble formation, weak structure and tearing of the film during the process.
4. Feeding & Tension Management
The printed film roll is installed on the unwinding part of the Biodegradable Bag Making Machine. The feed rate is continuously controlled with high-precision servo motors and pneumatic tension controllers. Due to its high elasticity and tear resistance when it is subjected to sudden stresses, the sensitivity of tension control should be very high.
2. Film Blowing (Extrusion)
Dried bio-resins are fed into a special-purpose Film Blowing Machine. To avoid thermal degradation, the material is melted inside an extruder barrel while being controlled with very low melting temperature (typically 110°C to 140°C). It is then forced through a circular die, inflated with air to form a large vertical “bubble”, cooled by an air ring and rolled into a continuous dual layer film sheet on a take-up roller.
5. Sealing and Cutting
A heavy duty, temperature controlled sealing bar seals the film. Using localized heat and pressure, the bottom of the bag is seamlessly joined to the main body of the bag. After the seal, the film is cut by a high-speed mechanical knife to the desired bag length as programmed.
3. In-Line Printing (Optional)
If the bags need the brand logos, statutory warnings, and/or compostability certification stamps, the flattened film roll is passed through a flexographic printing press. It involves specially formulated eco-friendly, water-based inks that decompose in the environment.
6. Handle Punching & Stacking
Hydraulic and pneumatic punch-dies quickly punch out handles from a stack of sealed grocery bags for the T-shirt (W-cut/U-cut) version. This is adapted for D-cut or flat bags. Finally, an automated conveyor system counts, stacks and prepares the finished biodegradable carry bags for final packaging and shipment.
